During computer courses in high school and later, at Penn state University, Zeljko made his own web sites and wrote about himself. I (his father) saved those texts:

Some Personal Information:

Block Is BrokenMy full name is Zelimir Koljesar, but my friends call me Zeljko. I also have other nick names such as Zel, Zman, and Z.

I'm 6' 4" and have 194 lbs. The colour of my eyes are blue and of my hair is light brown. I am left-handed.

I was born and raised in Yugoslavia. I moved to Canada with my family when I was 15 years of age.We emigrated from Novi Sad, capital city of province Vojvodina. The reasons for moving were difficult time and civil war and parents didn't see a bright future for my sister and myself. It took a year or two to get used to the new life, but all of us adapted pretty well. Four years of high school I spent in Kitchener, Ontario, a small city 1 hour west from Toronto. I have one older sibling named Gabrijela. She just recently graduated from University of Guelph and is working and living in Toronto. I am in my third (now: fourth) year here at Penn State hoping to gradute in May 2003!

We all in family speak three languages; Ruthenian, Serbian and English. We have many relatives living in Canada who greeted us and helped us in the beginning when we had to start from zero again. I met many new friends in school and volleyball team who explained me how Canadian system works. But I have to mention that the hardest thing was to leave our family in Yugoslavia. We lived our whole lives with them and then we left them. Now we communicate with them on phone or by mail.

Volleyball Information

As a little boy I played variety of sports. When I was in fourth grade I began playing volleyball for the best club in Yugoslavia - Volleyball Club "Vojvodina". At first I didn't really like it and I almost quit because I also played tennis at the same time for two years. However, things turned out well, I found myself in volleyball and now I am glad I stuck with volleyball. First couple of years were hard because we had to learn the basics of the sport. After that I began to love the sport and to play it better each day.
Then I moved to Canada.
I kept playing for variety teams such as: for my high school team in FHCI, club team called "Tri-City", regional, and during the summer I was in provincial Team Ontario.

I was recruited by PSU while playing at US Nationals my Junior year. With a little bit of luck I ended up here and now I am absolutely having a blast! For more information click on the picture or check out our website:
